Ottawa, Canada, Dec 6 2001 -- Validian Corporation, (OTC BB - "VLDI")

Validian releases the beta version of its ASI product

Validian announces the release of the Beta version of its original and exclusive Application Security Infrastructure (ASI). ASI is a radically innovative infrastructure for secure data delivery over the Internet. It lays a virtual communication channel of the highest level of security available on public communication networks between processes for the exchange of data containing documents, audio, video, images, software and any other type of data. The ASI infrastructure is an inter-process communication system and processes may be running on a single or on multiple computers linked through the Internet.

Tests on the Beta Version 1 are being undertaken in an environment independent from Validian. Initial loading went without a glitch and a series of "sniffers" have been implemented in the network to measure appropriate functioning.

The ASI unique transport infrastructure combines into a single platform major transport and control protocols as well as the most recent security methodologies. This is a major difference from current security approaches that tend to add layers over the Internet transport mechanisms. ASI integrates transport and security and therefore has no parallel for secure communication over the Internet at this moment.

ASI forms a secure, global and guaranteed channel for data delivery from an application's Transmitter to another application's Receiver. It lays an impenetrable communication channel between these two processes, exchanging data for the period of each transaction. The ASI infrastructure is easily scalable and can manage an unlimited number of simultaneous transactions, subject only to the physical capacity of the communication network.

Any computer linked to the Internet can become a ASI Client by loading the ASI Core. A ASI client can become a ASI Server by loading a further three server files. A computer can be both a client and a server at the same time. The Core requires only 200 Kbs and the total environment requires only 4 Mbs of disk space. The Core is available as a process or as a service. Installation is straightforward and consists of copying the ASI environment and creating a registration folder.

ASI is platform and operating system independent and is currently implemented on Windows (9X, NT, 2000) and on Linux platforms. ASI can be ported easily to any other platform supporting a C++ compiler.

ASI is simple to install and operate, provides full security and can be implemented anywhere. Furthermore, it is very powerful, highly reliable, fast and cost effective. It remains at all times under the control of the application administrator.

ASI can be used for server-to-server, server to client or peer-to-peer communication.

The Company will introduce several additional new products, during the next few months, all based on Validian ASI Technology. These products solve difficulties currently experienced by many application developers and users, including those associated with security breaches.

The Company develops and markets technology and tools to developers, which allow them to rapidly develop and deploy secure, interactive, distributed applications using the Internet as a communication medium. The Company intends to become a privileged supplier to software development companies and to managers of interactive, distributed applications, for which the issues of security of communication and speed of development are paramount.

Validian operates in North America and Europe.
